Yala is located in the two provinces of Hambantota district of southern province and Monaragala district in Uva province. There are many tremendous places in Yala. Those are Yala National Park, Sithulpawwa and Magul Maha Viharaya. Yala National Park is a massive surrounding of a forest. This is the 2nd largest park in Sri Lanka. There are lakes, beaches, jungle, rivers and scrubland can be seen at the Yala National Park. This variety in surroundings provides an elegant range in wildlife. About 32 species of mammals, 125 species of birds and many reptiles and lagoon fauna species have been verified in the park. The Yala National Park is famous among visitors as the best place to view large mammals within one land.
